Eco-conscious boaters want to support our planet, waterways, and sea critters all year round. In a season of sharing and gifting, selecting presents from groups and organizations that share your goals will make gift recipients happy and lift up the earth at the same time. Here are eight sites working to improve the world and a selection of gift ideas to put a smile on the faces of children and adults:

Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island, Inc. sells sweatshirts and tee shirts to fund research, education, outreach, and volunteer programs promoting conservation of coastal ecosystems. http://www.cresli.org/cresli/cresli_clothing.html.

Florida Oceanographic Society’s mission is to inspire environmental stewardship of Florida’s coastal ecosystems through education, research, and advocacy. A symbolic adoption of a marine critter (love the sea horse!) bolsters its efforts..
