26th Annual Seafood Festival

As the last weekend in August arrives, boatloads of seafood lovers feel their taste buds tingling. That’s because the catch of the weekend of August 26 -27 is the Seafood Festival at the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville.

LIMM Seafood Festival (2)The festival begins at 10:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday (see website for admission fee). Hungry boaters will enjoy the delicious and plentiful seafood for sale, ranging from raw bars to lobster rolls. There will also be non-seafood options, live musical performances, arts and crafts, children’s rides and activities, and public sails on the museum’s 1888 oyster sloop, Priscilla, a national historic landmark.

The Long Island Maritime Museum has free transient tie-up space on their east bulkhead available on a first-come, first-served basis. Transient space may also be available at nearby marinas.
